Grain-free wet food is usually chosen for a specific reason — a sensitive stomach, an intolerance, a vet's suggestion — which means the recipe behind the claim matters more here than it does on a food nobody's picked for that reason.

Harringtons Adult Dog Grain Free Chicken is made from chicken, potato, carrots and peas, with minerals, sunflower and salmon oil, and small additions of dried tomato, dried kelp, green lipped mussel, chicory, parsley, basil, rosemary, green tea and rosehip. The analysis is protein 10.0%, fat content 7.0%, inorganic matter 3.5%, crude fibre 1.0% and moisture 75%, and it's described as grain-free and suitable for dogs with more sensitive digestions. It's made in the UK.

Worth naming. Harringtons' own composition list states chicken at 60%, while their separate pack description gives 65% (26% freshly prepared chicken) — the two figures don't quite agree with each other. Both come from Harringtons' own material rather than anything we've added, and it's worth knowing the exact percentage moves depending on which of their own documents you read.

Who it's for: owners of an adult dog on a grain-free diet, particularly for a sensitive stomach, wanting a UK-made tray with named extras like green lipped mussel rather than a plain grain-free base.
