Full description

A tug toy sized for a small dog usually doesn't survive contact with a large one for very long, because the stress on the rope scales with the size and strength of whatever is pulling on the other end. Happy Pet's King Size range exists specifically for dogs at that heavier end.

This is the XL Tug Rope from the range, made from 100% cotton rope and manufactured with larger breeds specifically in mind. Happy Pet position it as built to withstand games of tug on a bigger scale than a standard-sized rope toy, rather than a rope simply made longer.

100% cotton rope
XL size, part of the King Size range
Built for larger breeds
Designed for tough, sustained games of tug

On rope toys generally. Happy Pet don't give a length or a weight capacity for this toy on this card, so we can't tell you exactly how it's sized against your dog, and cotton rope toys generally should be supervised rather than left with a determined chewer, since fraying strands can be a swallowing risk over time.

Who it's for: owners of large, powerful dogs who play tug regularly and have already worn through a standard-sized rope toy.

Rope and tug toys

Happy Pet Tug Rope King Size

Why we chose it

It's built specifically for larger dogs rather than being a standard rope toy sold as if size doesn't matter, which is the actual reason a lot of tug ropes don't last with a big, strong dog. Cotton rope also has the advantage of being more forgiving on gums and teeth than a synthetic alternative during a proper tug session.
