A squeaky ball earns its keep the moment a dog realises that biting it makes a noise, and that's most of the appeal, whatever colour it's painted — the squeak is what keeps a dog coming back to the same toy long after a silent one would have been abandoned in a corner.

Glowballs is a vinyl ball, 6cm across, that squeaks when squeezed or bitten. Happy Pet market it for use both indoors and in the garden, in a bright colourway, and the size is small enough for most dogs to carry comfortably without it being a choking risk the way a much smaller ball can be.

• 6cm vinyl ball
• Squeaks when bitten or squeezed
• Suitable for indoor and garden play
• Brightly coloured

On the name. 'Glowballs' suggests it glows in the dark, but nothing on the card confirms a glow-in-the-dark material or feature — treat the name as branding rather than a confirmed property until you've checked it in person.

Who it's for: dogs that respond well to squeaky toys, and owners wanting something usable both around the house and in the garden.
