Collagen-based chews are marketed as a rawhide alternative, but the appeal for most owners is simpler than that: they last a while and they're not actually rawhide, which is the only thing some dogs' stomachs object to.

These are made mostly from refined collagen (55%) coated in chicken breast (37%), with chicken liver adding to the flavour. Good Boy's analysis puts crude protein at a high 79%, with fat at just 3%.

• Pack of 10
• Refined collagen 55%, chicken breast 37%
• Crude protein 79%, fat 3%
• Rawhide-free alternative
• Coated in chicken, with chicken liver in the recipe

What the label does not say. Good Boy don't give an age restriction or feeding frequency for this particular pack, beyond the general instruction that treats shouldn't exceed 10% of a dog's daily calories - so use your own judgement on how often, based on the size of your dog.

Who it's for: dogs that need a longer-lasting chew than a soft treat but can't have rawhide, and owners after something high in protein rather than filler.
