A dog that empties its bowl in seconds isn't just being greedy — swallowing that much air and food that fast is exactly what leads to vomiting, indigestion and bloating, and slowing the meal down is the whole fix.

The Go-Slow dish has raised sections built into the bowl itself, so a dog has to eat around them rather than gulping straight from a flat surface. It holds 1.2 litres and is dishwasher safe.

• 1.2 litre capacity
• Raised interior sections to slow eating
• Dishwasher safe
• Weighs 0.85kg
• Available in black or blue

One thing worth knowing. the maker doesn't say whether wet food works as well as dry through the raised sections, so if your dog is on wet food, it's worth checking it slows them down as intended before relying on it.

Who it's for: owners of a dog that gulps its food, especially one that's had vomiting, indigestion or bloating linked to eating too fast.
