Most dry food is cooked under high heat and pressure, which is efficient but hard on some ingredients. Cold pressing does the opposite: it binds the kibble at a low temperature, and the reason that matters to a dog is digestibility rather than anything you can see on the outside.

This recipe is 32.5% turkey (split between freshly prepared and dried ground turkey), with dried sweet potato as the main carbohydrate rather than a cereal, plus peas, gelatine, chicken fat and dried fruit. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate are added directly, alongside dried botanicals — fennel, nettle and dandelion.

• Grain-free recipe: 32.5% turkey, dried sweet potato 26%, no wheat or maize
• Crude protein 24.5%, crude fat 12%, crude fibre 3.3%, crude ash 6.3%
• Omega-6 1.9%, omega-3 0.45%, calcium 1.1%
• Glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate included for joint support
• Vitamin E at 500mg/kg and vitamin C at 200mg/kg, both per kg
• 10KG bag

What the label does not say. Forthglade do not give us a calorie figure or a feeding table by dog weight for this recipe — the fact card carries the analysis but not the daily grams, so start from the guide printed on the bag rather than guessing from the protein percentage.

Who it's for: owners moving a dog off a grain-based diet, or whose dog does better without wheat and maize, who still want a straightforward complete kibble rather than a raw or wet feeding routine.
