Full description

Changing a dog's dinner can upset a familiar routine, which is why the transition instruction matters as much as the flavour.

Forthglade British Classics Hearty Turkey Stew is described in the feeding and storage information as complete wet food for adult dogs in a 395G tray. Turkey is 75%, with sweet potato and parsnip at 3% each, dried carrots at 1%, equivalent to 8%, and cranberries and linseed oil at 0.5% each. Minerals, dried herbs, chicory root extract and yucca extract are also declared. The analysis lists crude protein 11%, fat 7.5%, fibre 0.7%, ash 4% and moisture 70%. The manufacturer says to introduce it over 5 days, adjust the amount for activity and when combining it with dry food, and provide fresh drinking water.

Tray size: 395G
Food status: Complete
Turkey: 75%
Sweet potato: 3%
Crude fat: 7.5%

The published format wording is inconsistent. Detailed feeding and storage directions describe a wet tray, including refrigeration after opening, while a separate description calls it dry. We have followed the practical tray directions and left the disputed format out of the specification.

Who it's for: adult dogs whose owners want a complete turkey recipe with sweet potato, parsnip and cranberries, and who can follow the stated transition and storage directions.

Why we chose it

Turkey at 75% gives this recipe a clear point of difference within the British Classics range. I have kept the wet-tray wording tied to the detailed feeding and storage information while making the format discrepancy visible.
