A tin is a decision you make twice — once when you open it, and again when you find the other half of it in the fridge two days later. A tray is a portion. For a one-dog household that is most of the difference between wet food that gets eaten and wet food that gets thrown away.

This is a case of 12 trays at 395g each: six salmon with potato and vegetables, six sardines with sweet potato and vegetables. Fish is 75% of both recipes, which is the figure that separates it from most wet food at this end of the shelf. In the salmon tray the rest is potato 4%, carrots 2%, peas 2%, minerals, linseed oil 0.5% and seaweed 0.45%, plus a fructooligosaccharide prebiotic, yucca, glucosamine and chondroitin both at 50mg/kg, and four herbs. The two recipes do not analyse identically, and both are complete and grain free for adult dogs from 1 year.
