A lead that's hard to see in low light is a lead you're constantly checking is still in your hand, which is why flexi finish some of the Giant range in neon rather than a plain colourway. This one pairs a black casing with a neon yellow tape.

It's an 8m tape leash rated for dogs up to 50kg, using flexi's usual mechanism of a soft-grip handle, a permanent stop feature and a single-handed brake button. The tape itself is described as especially robust, and the neon colouring runs through the print as well as the tape.

• 8m tape leash
• Rated for dogs up to 50kg
• Black casing, neon yellow tape
• Single-handed brake button with permanent stop feature
• Soft-grip handle

One thing worth knowing. flexi make this leash in more than one size — this listing is the Large, rated to 50kg — so if your dog is smaller and you don't need the full 8m or the 50kg rating, it's worth checking whether a smaller flexi size suits better before buying the biggest one by default.

Who it's for: owners of a dog up to 50kg who walk in low light and want the lead itself to be genuinely visible, not just the collar or harness.
