Full description
A retractable lead rated for a genuinely large dog needs to be judged differently to a small-dog version — the mechanism has to hold under real force, not just extend and retract smoothly.
This is flexi's Black Design range in a Large size, a 5m tape leash rated for dogs up to 50kg, with a comfortable braking system and the option to add a Multi Box or LED Lighting System. It's available in four colours: green, pink, blue and black.
- 5m tape leash
- For dogs up to a maximum of 50kg
- Available in green, pink, blue or black
- Comfortable braking system
- Can be customised with a Multi Box or LED Lighting System
- Product weight approximately 322g
On the weight rating. 50kg is a genuinely large dog, and a retractable lead at that rating relies on the braking mechanism holding under real, sudden force — flexi don't publish an independent load test figure beyond the stated maximum, so treat the 50kg figure as the ceiling rather than a comfortable daily-use margin for a dog that pulls hard.
Who it's for: an owner of a large dog up to 50kg who wants the flat-tape style of retractable lead, with the option to add accessories like a Multi Box.

Why we chose it
A properly rated large-dog retractable lead is genuinely harder to get right than a small one, which is why we stock flexi's dedicated Large size rather than assuming a Medium lead stretches to cover it. Four colour options also means restocking doesn't leave us stuck with one colour.
