There's an awkward stretch between a dog finishing its puppy food and being ready for an adult diet where neither quite fits — too old for puppy-level richness, not yet done growing enough for a maintenance recipe — which is the gap a junior food is built to cover.

Skinner's Field & Trial Junior leads with poultry meat meal at a minimum of 95% chicken (32.5%), then maize, wheat, brown rice, poultry fat, naked oats, beet pulp, whole linseed and vitamins and minerals, with marine algae meal, MOS at 2,500mg/kg, FOS at 1,000mg/kg, a herb blend at 750mg/kg, glucosamine at 250mg/kg, chondroitin sulphate at 150mg/kg, seaweed at 150mg/kg and yucca at 100mg/kg. Skinner's own guidance is to feed it from around six months of age, or until your dog is fully grown.
