A dog that circles before lying down is testing the surface as much as choosing a spot, and a base that grips the floor removes one reason to keep circling.
This is Dubex's British Tartan bed in Small: a cream linen outer with a soft, removable inner cushion in grey tartan, built in a rectangular shape and finished with a non-slip base. It's designed as a lie-flat bed for stretching out rather than a raised or bolstered one.
- Cream linen outer
- Removable grey tartan inner cushion
- Rectangular shape
- Non-slip base
- Small size
On the measurements. Dubex haven't given us a length or width for this bed, only the size code Small, so we can't confirm the exact footprint in centimetres. If you need a precise fit for a crate space or a corner of a room, it's worth checking before you order rather than after.
Who it's for: owners wanting a small, neutral-toned bed with a cushion that lifts out on its own, rather than one sewn permanently into the base.

Why we chose it
The cushion lifts out on its own rather than being stitched to the base, which matters more than the tartan pattern once the bed's been used a while. A cream and grey combination also sits quietly in most rooms rather than fighting with the rest of the furniture.
