Product description
A dog who pulls on a collar is putting all of that force through their windpipe, and you can usually hear it in the coughing halfway down the road. Moving them onto a padded vest changes where the pressure lands without changing anything else about the walk. This set does exactly that and hands you a matching lead as well, so there is nothing to pair up or colour-match afterwards.
The vest is flannel with a light foam cotton padding. It steps on over the front legs and fastens across the back, which is far easier than a head-first harness on a dog who dislikes being fussed with. The retractable lead pays out as your dog moves ahead and takes up the slack when they drop back, so less line trails through puddles. Reflective strips on the vest catch headlights on early starts and dark evenings.
- Padded step-in vest harness with matching lead
- Flannel outer with light foam cotton padding
- Sold with the retractable lead, or harness alone
- Reflective strips for low-light walks
- Sizes XS to XL for small and medium dogs
- Seven colours including plaid blue, wine red and heather grey
Two things worth knowing. It is the padded flannel build, so treat it as a warmer harness than a summer mesh one. And a retractable lead gives you less control near traffic than a fixed lead does, so lock it short at roads and junctions.
What the options mean. Sizes run from XS to XL — £14.99 for the smallest, £26.99 for the largest.
Who it's for: Small and medium dogs who lean into a collar, and owners who want harness and lead sorted in one purchase.
Why we chose it
A dog who pulls on a collar puts all that force through the windpipe — you can usually hear it. This steps on over the front legs, which is far easier than head-first, and the matching lead comes with it.

Size guide & how to measure
The manufacturer's own size table for this step-in flannel harness. The bust figure is the adjustable chest range, so pick the size whose range your dog's chest girth falls inside.
How to measure
- Chest (bust): measure right round the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
- Pick the size whose adjustment range covers that figure, rather than one it lands right at the end of.
- Cross-check against the recommended weight, and size up if your dog is between sizes.
| Size | Bust adjustment size | Recommended weight |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 30–40 cm | 5–8 catties (about 2.5–4 kg) |
| S | 40–45 cm | 7–15 catties (about 3.5–7.5 kg) |
| M | 45–50 cm | 14–20 catties (about 7–10 kg) |
| L | 50–58 cm | 18–30 catties (about 9–15 kg) |
| XL | 57–63 cm | 28–40 catties (about 14–20 kg) |
Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures. Weights are printed in catties (1 catty = 0.5 kg); the kg figures in brackets are that conversion. If between sizes, size up.
