How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.
- Standard lead (1.2–1.5 m): everyday pavement walks and training.
- Long line (3–10 m): recall practice and open spaces.
- Short / traffic lead (under 1 m): close control in busy areas.

Full description
Most dog leads are sold without a single number attached to them, which is no help at all when you are trying to work out whether one will hold your dog. This one comes with a proper size chart: three combinations of length and webbing width, each with a weight the manufacturer rates it to, so the choice rests on something firmer than a photograph and a guess.
The webbing itself is smooth nylon with reflective threads woven through the weave rather than printed on the surface, so the visibility does not wear off with use. The handle is padded, which is what your hand notices on a long walk and especially when a dog pulls, and it finishes in a metal trigger clip that takes any collar or harness ring. Thirty colour and size combinations are stocked.
