A hard plastic frisbee and a dog's mouth are a poor combination, and chipped teeth and split lips are the usual outcome. A soft disc solves that: this one flexes as the dog catches it, folds rather than cracking, and can be picked up off the grass without a struggle. It still flies properly, which is the part most soft discs get wrong.

Three diameters are made, from 185mm up to 240mm, and the size matters far more than the colour. A small dog cannot get their jaw around a 240mm disc, and a big dog will bend a small one in half mid-catch. The flexible edge also lets the disc settle flat on the ground rather than sitting dome-down like a rigid one, so a dog can scoop it up rather than pawing at it.

On the jumping. Repeated high leaps and twisting mid-air catches are hard on a dog's shoulders and cruciate ligaments, and that damage builds quietly over a season. Keep throws low and rolling for young dogs and heavy breeds, play on grass rather than hard ground, and stop while the dog still wants more.
