Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.

How to measure

Stand your pet up squarely.
Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
If your pet is between sizes, choose the larger one.

Full description

Webbing straps rub. On a short-coated small dog in winter, a bare nylon harness worn over thin fur leaves a mark behind the front legs within a couple of weeks, and the dog starts flinching whenever it comes out of the cupboard. Lining the contact surfaces with fleece is a straightforward answer to that particular problem, and it is essentially the whole reason this set exists.

The lining sits where the harness meets the body, so the load spreads over a soft surface rather than a hard edge. It is a checked fabric with a velvet-edged trim in several colour combinations, and it arrives as a set: the harness, a matching lead, and a small drawstring pouch for treats and waste bags that saves digging through a coat pocket mid-walk. The whole set weighs somewhere between 120g and 160g depending on which size you take.
