How to measure
- Measure round your dog's neck where the collar will sit, using a soft tape.
- Leave a two-finger gap between the tape and the neck so the collar isn't tight.
- Choose the size whose adjustable range covers that measurement; use the weight column only as a sanity check.

Full description
The law is more specific than most owners realise. A dog in a public place has to wear a collar bearing the owner's name and address, and a hanging tag is the usual answer, right up until it snags on a bramble or wears blank against a lead clip. A plate riveted flat to the collar itself cannot fall off and cannot be misread, and it does not jingle at three in the morning.
The collar is leather with a soft padded lining on the inside face, which is the surface that does the wearing on a dog who pulls, and the nameplate is brass, engraved with your dog's name and number. The matching lead is rope with a reflective thread run through it and a brass clip to match the plate. That reflective rope does a real job on a winter walk: on an unlit lane, headlights pick up the lead across the road well before they pick up a dark dog.
