Full description

Beef recipes are easier to judge when the organs and trimmings are not hidden. This one declares 60% beef and specifies that the total includes lung and trimmings, each at 4%.

Sweet potato, carrots, green beans and mixed berries are each 2%, with spirulina at 0.5%. Yucca, green tea and rosemary extracts are also listed. The 600G food is complete, and the maker describes beef as the single animal protein with no grain. Analysis states 10.3% protein, 8% fat, 0.6% fibre, 2.3% ash and 76% moisture. The pack size is 600G and the product is identified as dog food. It is sold as a complete recipe.

Why we chose it

The 60% beef total is useful because the label also shows what sits inside it. That organ-and-trimmings detail makes this a more informed buy than a can that stops at a broad meat percentage.
