A pack calling itself "80% Duck" and a composition panel on the same pack that adds up differently is not unusual in wet dog food, but it is worth reading rather than skipping — the composition list is what was actually weighed into the pouch, not the number on the front.

Country Hunter's composition panel for this pouch lists Duck at 60%, alongside Sweet Potato, Carrots, Peas and Mixed Berries at 4% each, with minerals and small amounts of yucca extract, green tea extract and rosemary extract making up the rest. The analytical constituents are Protein 10.3%, Crude Fat 6.5%, Crude Ash 2.5%, Crude Fibre 0.5% and Moisture 77%. It is gently cooked inside the pouch, sold in 150g portions, and Country Hunter describe it as a complete and balanced meal.

What the label does not say. This pack is named "80% Duck", but Country Hunter's own composition breakdown for it lists duck at 60%, with Sweet Potato, Carrots, Peas and Mixed Berries named alongside it. We report the composition panel's figures rather than the front-of-pack number, because that is the one that was actually itemised.

Who it's for: owners feeding an adult dog a single-protein wet meal, particularly anyone avoiding grain and wanting duck named clearly as the main ingredient rather than a flavour note.
