Dogs that lose interest in a plain tennis ball within a week are usually bored of the texture, not the shape — which is the argument for putting more than one surface on the same toy.

This toy plaits a tennis ball onto a fleece rope, so a dog gets the felt-and-bounce of the ball and the give of a plaited rope in the same object. Coolpet describe it as designed to enrich a dog's senses through different textures, and the same supervised-play guidance applies as the rest of the range: packaging removed and recycled, toy retired once damaged.

• Category: Dog Toys, Plush
• Brand: Coolpet
• A tennis ball plaited onto a fleece rope
• Parcel weight 0.2kg
• For supervised play only

One thing worth knowing. No length or ball size is stated, so if the fit of the ball matters to how your dog carries it, that's a detail the makers haven't given us to pass on.

Who it's for: dogs that get bored of a single-texture toy quickly, and owners who want one toy that covers tug, chew and fetch instead of three.
