Full description

Most dogs cannot tell you a car journey or a firework is coming, which is why the calming treat market exists at all — something to reach for before the pacing starts rather than after.

Coachi's Calming Treat is built around turkey meal (38%) and sweet potato (30%), with glycerine, potato starch and turkey fat making up the base, and a small functional layer added on top: L-tryptophan (1%), chicory (FOS) and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) as prebiotics at 0.1% each, plus chamomile and lavender at 0.1% each. It reads protein 24%, crude fat 10%, crude ash 9% and crude fibre 1%.

One thing worth knowing. These are food ingredients Coachi include for their calming association — L-tryptophan, chamomile, lavender — not a licensed medicine, and the amounts are small (1% or less each). A dog with genuine, persistent anxiety needs a vet's assessment, not just a change of treat.

Who it's for: owners looking for a treat to offer around a known stressful moment — travel, a new environment, a noisy evening — rather than a solution for an ongoing behavioural problem.

Coachi Calming Treat Turkey

Why we chose it

Turkey meal and sweet potato lead the recipe rather than the calming ingredients being bulked out with filler, which at least means the base is a proper treat and not just a delivery vehicle. The functional additives are each stated at 1% or under, so this is a small nudge rather than anything stronger.
