Full description

A "working dog food" pitched at rest days rather than hard graft sounds like a contradiction, but most working dogs spend plenty of time doing nothing much at all, and feeding a rest-day dog like it's mid-shift every day is how weight creeps on quietly.

This is a muesli-style mix rather than a uniform kibble, built on poultry meal (at least 14%) alongside flaked whole grain wheat and maize, with lamb meal, turkey meal and hydrolysed chicken adding further protein. The mix is coated in glucose syrup, which Chudleys use to make it more palatable to fussier eaters.

Poultry meal (min 14%), plus lamb meal and turkey meal
Protein 20%, oil 11.5%, crude fibre 2.75%, crude ash 5.5%
Muesli-style mix coated in glucose syrup
Designed for lower workloads and rest periods
14KG bag

On the glucose syrup. This mix is coated in glucose syrup to make it more palatable, which is worth knowing if you're picturing a "complete muesli diet" as free of anything sweet - it isn't hidden, but it also isn't the first thing that phrase brings to mind.

Who it's for: owners of working dogs on a lighter workload, during rest periods, or dogs that hold their weight easily on a standard active recipe.

Chudleys Original

Why we chose it

Original is pitched at the rest-day end of a working dog's week, which is the gap most "active dog" foods leave - not every working dog is at full output every day. It's also a muesli rather than a kibble, which can suit a fussier eater that hasn't taken to a uniform pellet.
