Most Christmas dog outfits are a photograph and nothing more. They go on for five minutes on the day and then live in a drawer until the following December. This one has a D-ring stitched into the back, which changes what it is: you clip the lead straight onto the outfit and take the dog out in it, so the joke gets an audience beyond the immediate family.

The design is a green jumpsuit with a cheery reindeer face, red striped sleeves, soft felt antlers and a yellow bow tie. Two body styles are offered under the same name, being a vest version that covers the back and chest, and a four-feet version that covers the legs as well. The four-feet cut adds real warmth on a frosty walk and keeps a fair amount of mud off the coat, while the vest is far easier to get on and off a dog who is not keen on being dressed.
