Product description

Lickable tubes of creamy puree, given straight from the tube or squeezed into a dish. Fifteen tubes across four flavours. The format is the product: a cat that will not come to you for a biscuit will often come for one of these.

The chicken recipe, which is the one Catit publish in full, is 25% chicken and 2% chicken liver in a tapioca base, set with locust bean gum. It is 82.8% moisture and 9.1 kcal a tube, so the calorie cost of giving one is small. Taurine is added at 1200mg/kg, which is worth having in anything a cat eats regularly.

15 tubes, four flavours
Chicken recipe: chicken 25%, chicken liver 2%
9.1 kcal per 10g tube
Taurine 1200mg/kg added

Catit's own page says up to three tubes a day and a major retailer says two. We have used the brand's figure because it is their product, but that is a real disagreement about a real number and we would go with the lower one for a cat on a diet. Catit publish the full label for the chicken recipe only, so the other three flavours in the pack are undocumented.

Who it's for: hand-feeding a nervous cat, hiding a tablet, or rewarding at the vet where nothing else will be taken.

Why we chose it

Nothing else gets a frightened cat to engage the way a lickable tube does, and at nine calories it costs almost nothing to use one. We would like all four labels published and we have said so.

Common questions

How many tubes a day?

Catit say up to three for an adult cat, with the main meal reduced accordingly. A major UK retailer transcribes the same pack as up to two. We would work to the lower number for a cat watching its weight.

What flavours are in the 15 pack?

Chicken, Chicken and Lamb, Salmon and Prawn, and Tuna. Catit publish the full label only for the chicken one.

How many calories is a tube?

9.1 kcal per 10g tube, for the chicken recipe.

Can I leave an opened tube?

No. The pack says to use each tube within one day of opening.

How long does delivery take?
