Jerky treats are usually judged on texture before flavour, and a soft, easy-to-tear jerky suits a smaller mouth or an older cat better than a rigid strip.

These are soft jerky treats made from 67% chicken fillet and 18% pollock, with vegetable glycerine and isolated soy protein. They analyse at 51.2% protein, 19.9% moisture, 2.3% fat, 5.2% ash and 0.1% crude fibre, and contain no grain, wheat or corn.

On the two named meats. Chicken and fish both appear on the front of the pack, and the composition backs that up — 67% chicken fillet and 18% pollock — so unlike a lot of dual-named treats, both ingredients genuinely make up most of the recipe here rather than one being a token addition.

Who it's for: owners of cats who do better on a soft treat than a hard one, and who want a grain-free option with a clearly stated meat content.
