Product description
Throat pressure is the reason a lot of small dogs cough, gag and then pull harder on a collar, and on a cat it is worse still, because there is even less structure in the neck to take a load. A wide mesh panel across the chest moves that pressure onto the ribcage where it belongs, and an animal who is not being throttled has considerably less reason to fight the lead.
The vest steps on rather than going over the head, which is quicker and far less of a battle with a pet who has already decided they do not want it. Mesh is the other half of the design, because it gives a wide contact area for spreading the load while staying open enough not to act like a coat on a warm day. Reflective strips run along the sides for early winter walks, and a matching lead comes in the box, so nothing else is needed.
- Step-in mesh vest harness with a matching lead
- Wide chest panel spreads pressure away from the throat
- Breathable mesh for lighter, cooler wear
- Reflective strips for visibility after dark
- Sizes from XXS through to XL
- Colours include black, red, blue and purple
On measuring, and on cats. A harness is sized by the chest girth measured just behind the front legs, not by weight, so take that measurement before choosing and check it against the size guide rather than guessing from breed. Cats also need a week or two wearing one indoors, unclipped, before you attach a lead at all. A soft mesh vest is not escape-proof on a cat determined to reverse out of it.
What the options mean. Sizes run from M to XL — £8.99 for the smallest, £9.99 for the largest.
Who it's for: Small dogs, puppies and calm cats who pull against a collar or object to anything going over the head.
Why we chose it
Throat pressure is why a lot of small dogs cough, gag and then pull harder. A wide mesh panel moves it onto the ribcage, and an animal who is not being throttled has less reason to fight the lead. Not escape-proof on a cat.

Size guide & how to measure
Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
How to measure
- Stand your pet up squarely.
- Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
- If your pet is between sizes, choose the larger one.
| Size | Typical chest / girth | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 28–40 cm | Toy breeds, kittens, very small dogs |
| S | 38–53 cm | Small dogs (e.g. Dachshund, Yorkie) |
| M | 50–68 cm | Medium dogs (e.g. Cocker Spaniel, Beagle) |
| L | 65–85 cm | Large dogs (e.g. Labrador, Boxer) |
| XL | 82–105 cm | Giant breeds (e.g. German Shepherd, Rottweiler) |
