Product description
Lunar New Year photographs usually come with a two-minute window before the cat has had quite enough, so whatever goes on needs to go on fast and come off faster. A crocheted collar does both. It is soft, there is no rigid frame to fight against, and it sits around the neck like a scarf rather than strapping across the chest and shoulders.
Each one is hand-crocheted in festive red, gold and white, with a lion-dance face and small dangling fortune charms. Four designs are offered, the Nian Beast Scarf, Red Lion, Lion Dance Blessing and Peace and Joy, in small and medium. They are light pieces, between 12g and 110g depending on which design and size you choose, and they arrive flat in a box of roughly 10 to 20cm by 15cm by 2 to 4cm.
- Hand-crocheted in festive red, gold and white
- Four designs: Nian Beast Scarf, Red Lion, Lion Dance Blessing, Peace and Joy
- Dangling fortune charm details
- Two sizes, S and M
- Weighs between 12g and 110g depending on design and size
- Suits cats and small dogs
Treat this as a costume. Dangling charms are exactly the sort of thing a cat will lie down and chew, and crochet unravels into long strands, which is not something you want swallowed. Put it on for the photographs and the visitors, stay in the room, and take it off afterwards.
Who it's for: Households marking Lunar New Year who want their cat or small dog in the family photograph for a few supervised minutes.
Why we chose it
Hand-crocheted, so there is no rigid frame for a cat to fight against, and it sits round the neck like a scarf rather than strapping across the chest. That matters when your window of cooperation is about two minutes.
