A toy breed puppy has a jaw built for a teacup, not a Labrador, and the usual fix for a puppy that won't eat its kibble isn't a tastier recipe - it's a smaller piece it can actually pick up and chew.

This puppy food is built on a brown and white rice base with dried chicken and dried fish, made up into a kibble Burns describe as sized specifically for small and toy breeds. It's a complete food formulated for growth, with protein and fat set higher than Burns' adult sensitive recipes.

• Complete food for puppies and juniors of small and toy breeds, made with a smaller kibble
• Composition: Brown Rice 44%, Dried Chicken 23%, White Rice 13%, Chicken Oil, Oats, Peas, Sunflower Oil, Dried Fish, Minerals, Seaweed
• Protein 23%, Fat 11%, Fibre 2%, Ash 7%
• Calcium 1.1%, Phosphorus 0.9%
• Omega-6 2.2%, Omega-3 0.3%
• 2KG bag

On the kibble size. Burns describe this as a smaller kibble for small and toy breeds but don't publish an actual measurement, so if a specific puppy is still struggling with it, that's worth raising with a breeder or vet rather than assuming the size is fixed for every dog. There's also both chicken and fish in the composition, so this isn't a single-protein recipe if that's what's specifically needed.

Who it's for: puppies and juniors of small and toy breeds who need a smaller kibble than a standard puppy food, without a specific single-protein requirement.
