A seven-year-old dog eating exactly what it ate at two is one of the quieter ways weight creeps on, since an older dog simply doesn't burn the same energy it used to. A senior recipe is the manufacturer's attempt to match the bowl to that change rather than leaving it to the owner to notice and cut portions themselves.
