Full description

Most dogs fall somewhere between "needs the thinnest chew available" and "needs the thickest", which is exactly the gap a middle thickness is built to fill.

This is a Bestpets rawhide twist at 6-8mm, the middle thickness in the range, sold individually: the price shown is for one twist. The analytical panel is consistent with the rest of the Bestpets rawhide line: over 71% protein, under 2.2% fat, under 0.5% fibre and under 1% ash.

Rawhide twist, 6-8mm thick
Protein over 71%
Fat under 2.2%, fibre under 0.5%, ash under 1%

What the label does not say. No minimum age or feeding frequency is published for this range. The same twist also comes thinner, at 3-5mm, and thicker, at 9-10mm, if this middle size is not the right fit.

Who it's for: owners of a medium-sized dog, or anyone unsure which thickness to pick and wanting the middle option as a sensible default.

Why we chose it

The middle thickness is the sensible starting point for a customer who is not sure which size their dog needs, without them having to guess between the thinnest and thickest options. A hundred to a pack makes it worth trying at this size before committing to a different thickness.
