The shape of a cheap vinyl toy rarely changes how a dog plays with it - most will chew, carry or chase it the same way regardless - but it's a small way to add some variety to a toy box otherwise full of plain balls.

This is a vinyl basketball-shaped dog toy with a built-in squeaker, from Bestpets' basic vinyl range. Like the rest of Bestpets' character toys, the squeak is the main draw and the shape is mostly a matter of variety.

• Vinyl construction
• Basketball-shaped design
• Built-in squeaker
• For supervised play

One thing worth knowing. As with the rest of this range, no size, weight or chew-resistance detail is supplied, so it's worth treating this as a light play toy rather than a tough chew until you've seen how your dog treats it.

Who it's for: dogs that like a simple squeaky toy for general play, and owners building up a varied, inexpensive toy box.
