Goose is not a protein many dry or wet foods use at all, let alone lead with, which makes it worth a look for a dog that has already worked through the more common raw proteins. Here it is paired with turkey rather than standing alone, in close to equal measure.

The recipe is 40% goose and 30% free range turkey with bone, alongside ox liver, ox kidney, parsnip and carrots. It is a complete food, raw and frozen, supplied as a 1kg block.

• Goose 40%, free range turkey with bone 30%
• Moisture 58.2%, crude protein 15.5%, crude fat 16.8%
• Calcium 0.7%, phosphorus 0.4%
• Complete food
• 500g or 1kg pack, frozen

On trying a new protein. Goose and turkey are both less common than chicken or beef, so this is a genuine novel-protein option for a dog with suspected sensitivities to the usual meats - but as with any diet change, it is worth checking with a vet first if the dog has an existing health condition.

Who it's for: adult dogs already on raw who want to try a genuinely different two-protein recipe, rather than another chicken-based blend.
