Full description

A dog that empties its bowl in under a minute isn't necessarily being greedy - it's just eating the way dogs are built to, and a food's job is to be worth eating that fast rather than to slow the whole process down.

Bowl Lickin' Goodness is chicken-led at 50% of the recipe (31% freshly prepared free-run chicken, 14% dried, plus chicken gravy and chicken fat), with rice, oats and peas making up most of the rest. Glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate and beta glucans are included as standard, alongside a full trace element pack of iron, zinc, manganese, copper, iodine and selenium.

One thing worth knowing. This recipe is not grain-free - rice and oats both appear well down the composition - so if grain-free is a requirement rather than a preference, check the ingredient list before assuming a chicken recipe from this range covers it.

Who it's for: owners of adult dogs who want a chicken-led joint-support recipe and don't need it to be grain-free.

Why we chose it

This is the standard chicken recipe in Barking Heads' All Hounder range, and the trace element pack, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, iodine and selenium, is printed in full rather than just implied by a complete-and-balanced claim on the front. It also comes in a larger bag for households that get through it faster.
