A dog that spends its day actually working - herding, running trials, covering ground at a trot rather than a stroll - burns through calories a sofa-based dog never will, and the honest way to feed that difference is more fat in the bowl, not more bowl.

Autarky's Succulent Salmon here is built for that: salmon is a minimum of 35% of the recipe, and oil sits at 13.5%, noticeably higher than a general maintenance food. Poultry meal and chicken fat are also both in the composition alongside the salmon, and the recipe carries omega 3 at 1.1% and omega 6 at 2.8%. It's described as a complete food for adult working dogs up to around the onset of old age at 7 years.
