Tea tree and neem oil turn up in a lot of these shampoos, but the actual washing instruction is where the real difference between products usually sits — some ask for a wait, and some don't.

This is a tea tree and neem oil shampoo for dogs, helping wash out fleas, ticks, mites and lice, with a built-in conditioner and a low-foam formula. Animology's instruction here is simply to wet, lather, rinse thoroughly and dry — no stated waiting time.

• 250ml or 500ml bottle
• Tea tree and neem oil infused
• Built-in conditioner
• Low-foam formula, cruelty-free
• Suitable for all coat types and breeds, dogs from 6 weeks old

One thing worth knowing. This washes out fleas, ticks, mites and lice present at the time of washing — it isn't an ongoing preventative like a spot-on treatment, so it's a wash for an active problem rather than protection against a future one.

Who it's for: owners of a dog with an active flea, tick or mite problem, from 6 weeks old, wanting a straightforward wash-and-rinse shampoo.
