Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.

How to measure

Stand your pet up squarely.
Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
If your pet is between sizes, choose the larger one.

Reversible is a better idea than it sounds. Two patterns on one harness means the one your dog is wearing is the one you have not got bored of, and — more practically — the side facing out is the side that is not currently covered in whatever they rolled in on Tuesday.

This is the Soho Collection, made from 100% recycled fabric: Ancol state each harness keeps 4 plastic bottles out of landfill. It flips over in a moment for a different look, and it has been extensively tested for fit. This is the large, and the range runs XS at 23 to 38cm, S at 27 to 49cm, M at 35 to 60cm and L at 43 to 76cm. Ancol make matching collars, leads and accessories in the range, down to hair scrunchies and poo bag dispensers.
