Full description
One slicker brush claiming to suit every coat type usually means it's mediocre at all of them, but the actual test is whether the pins are stiff enough to reach into a curly coat and soft enough not to scratch a short one.
This universal slicker uses thin, bendy stainless steel pins that ease out tangles more gently than a rigid comb, penetrating deep enough to pull dead and loose hair from both the undercoat and top coat. The pin pad on this large size measures 9.5cm x 7cm.
- Thin, bendy stainless steel pins
- Suitable for smooth, silky, long and short coats
- Removes hair from undercoat and top coat
- Pin pad measures 9.5cm x 7cm (large)
- Also made in Medium and Small
- Brush slowly and gently in the direction of fur growth
On what's missing. There's no weight limit or specific breed guidance given, and the makers simply say to avoid pressing the pins into the skin — so for a dog with sensitive skin, go slower and lighter than the description implies is necessary.
Who it's for: owners wanting one slicker brush that reasonably covers several coat types, rather than buying a different brush for each texture.

Why we chose it
Calling a brush 'universal' is a big claim, but bendy stainless steel pins genuinely do flex differently to a rigid slicker, which is why it copes with more coat types than most. The large pin pad suits a bigger dog without extra passes.
