Plenty of wet food names put a percentage on the front that the ingredients panel underneath doesn't quite back up. It's worth checking, because it's one of the few claims on a pet food label a shopper can actually verify for themselves against the small print.

This one checks out. Chicken at 66% and dried chicken at 14% are the two named meats, and between them they're where the "80" in "80/20 Chicken" comes from. The rest is sweet potato, tapioca and vegetables including apple, chickpeas and peas, plus salmon oil and a long list of herbs, fruits and botanicals in small, unspecified amounts, alongside glucosamine at 178mg/kg, MSM at 178mg/kg and chondroitin at 125mg/kg. On the analysis it's 32% protein, 18% fat, 2% fibre and 7.6% ash, with omega-6 at 3.5% and omega-3 at 0.4%.

On the name: the 80% headline holds up against the ingredients panel here, which isn't guaranteed on every product that quotes one. What's less clear is the long tail of herbs, fruits and botanicals in the list — AATU don't give a percentage for any of them individually, so treat those as flavour and variety additions rather than nutritionally significant on their own.

Who it's for: owners wanting a grain-free wet food or topper with a genuinely high, verifiable meat content, and anyone who checks a headline percentage against the label before trusting it.
