Feeding two animals from one machine usually goes wrong in the same predictable way: the faster eater finishes and starts on the other bowl. This feeder splits each scheduled portion between two stainless-steel bowls at the same moment, so neither pet is waiting on the other. The app handles the timing, which means a late train or an overrunning shift stops turning into a missed meal.

The hopper holds five litres of dry food and has a clear window down the side, so you can see whether it needs topping up rather than lifting the lid and guessing. Portions and feeding times are set in the companion app, and you can send an extra meal through remotely if plans change. Both bowls are stainless steel and lift out to wash, which matters more than it sounds: plastic scratches, and those scratches hold grease and smell in a way steel simply does not.

• Five-litre hopper with a clear level window
• Twin stainless-steel bowls, both removable for washing
• App-set schedules, portion sizes and remote dispensing
• Splits one portion between two pets, or one pet's day into two meals
• Sold in UK, EU and US plug versions

Two things worth knowing. Pick the UK plug version at checkout unless you want an adapter in the mix. And an auger feeder like this one takes dry kibble only, so wet or semi-moist food will jam the mechanism and spoil in the hopper. If one of your pets guards food, two bowls side by side will not fix that on its own; feed them in separate rooms and use the twin outlet for a single pet's split meals instead.

Who it's for: Households feeding two pets on dry food, or one pet who does better on smaller meals through the day, where somebody is not always home at the right hour.
