Who makes Sheba cat food?
Sheba is a cat food brand owned by Mars Petcare, part of the Mars, Incorporated group, which also owns Whiskas, Pedigree, Cesar and several other well-known pet food brands. Sheba's own focus sits on wet cat food specifically, built around taste and texture rather than a dry kibble range.
The company behind the brand
Mars Petcare is one of the largest pet food and pet care companies in the world, and Sheba sits alongside several other cat and dog food brands under the same parent group. That scale means Sheba benefits from significant investment in recipe development and manufacturing, the same as its sister brands do.
Owning multiple brands under one group is standard in the pet food industry, and it does not mean the individual brands are identical. Sheba, Whiskas and the group's other cat food brands are each formulated and marketed differently, aimed at different parts of the market.
What Sheba actually focuses on
Sheba's range centres on wet food formats: pouches, trays and tins, generally marketed on taste, texture and a more premium positioning than some of the group's other cat food brands. Fine flakes, pate and sauce-based recipes are common formats across the range.
As with any brand, the exact recipe, protein source and formulation vary between individual products, so the specific pack is what tells you what a particular Sheba product actually contains, rather than the brand name alone.
The range we stock
We carry a selection of Sheba's pouches and trays, including its fine flakes and sauce-based recipes across a range of flavours, and we pick, pack and post every order ourselves once you have chosen what suits your cat.
If a particular flavour or pack size is not currently showing, it is worth checking back rather than assuming it has gone from the range permanently, since stock levels move with demand the same as any other product we carry.

Common questions
- Is Sheba a premium cat food brand?
- It is generally positioned as a more premium wet food option within the Mars Petcare portfolio, focused on taste and texture. Whether it counts as premium in a nutritional sense depends on the specific recipe, so check the ingredients on the pack you are considering.
- Does Sheba make dry cat food?
- Sheba's range is built primarily around wet food formats such as pouches, trays and tins. If you are looking for dry food specifically, our cat-dry-food range covers other brands that focus on that format.
- Is Sheba suitable for kittens?
- Some products in the range are formulated for kittens specifically and labelled as such, while others are aimed at adult cats. Check the individual pack for life stage suitability rather than assuming the whole range suits every age of cat.
- Are Sheba and Whiskas made in the same factories?
- Both brands sit under Mars Petcare, but we do not have visibility of specific manufacturing arrangements for either brand, and that level of detail is a question for the manufacturer directly rather than something we can confirm here.
