Eukanuba dog food feeding guide

Eukanuba is a long-established dog food brand with recipes built around life stage and breed size — puppy, adult, and large breed formulas each aimed at a specific set of nutritional needs. As with any brand, the right amount to feed depends on your own dog rather than a single figure, so this page covers what we stock and how to actually get the portion right.

What we stock

Our puppy range includes Eukanuba Puppy Turkey & Carrots, Puppy Breed Chicken, Puppy Small & Medium Breed Lamb, and the grain-free Puppy Breed Fish recipe. For adult dogs we carry the Adult Turkey & Carrots, Active Adult Large Breed Chicken, Adult Lamb & Rice Large Breed, and the grain-free Adult Breed Fish.

The large breed formulas are worth choosing deliberately if you have a big or giant breed dog, since they are built around the different growth and joint-support needs of larger dogs rather than being a bigger bag of a standard recipe.

How to work out the right amount

The feeding guide printed on each pack is based on your dog's weight and life stage and is the right place to start, adjusted from there based on how your dog actually looks. A puppy on a growth formula in particular needs portions reviewed regularly as they grow, rather than fixed once and left.

Feel for the ribs without pressing hard and look for a visible waist from above — that combination tells you more about whether the amount is right than the number on the scale alone. If you are ever unsure, especially with a growing puppy or a large breed dog, check in with your vet rather than guessing.

Common questions

How much Eukanuba should I feed my puppy?
Start with the feeding guide on the pack, which accounts for your puppy's current weight and expected adult size, and review it regularly as they grow rather than setting a portion once. Your vet can advise if you are unsure whether your puppy's growth looks on track.
What's the difference between Eukanuba's standard and large breed recipes?
The large breed formulas are built around the different growth rate and joint-support needs of bigger dogs, rather than simply being a larger-portion version of the standard recipe. If you have a big or giant breed dog, the large breed range is the more appropriate choice.
Can I feed a grain-free Eukanuba recipe to any dog?
Grain-free is a recipe choice rather than a requirement for most dogs, and it suits some dogs better than others. If your dog has no specific need to avoid grain, either the standard or grain-free recipe can be appropriate — choose based on how your dog does on it rather than the label alone.
How do I know if I'm feeding my dog the right amount of Eukanuba?
Check their body condition rather than relying on the guide figure alone — you should be able to feel the ribs easily and see a waist from above. Adjust the portion gradually if your dog is gaining or losing weight, and speak to your vet if you are unsure.
