Full description

Chews with a flavour in the name are usually named for what will sell, not for what makes up most of the recipe — and the small print on this one is worth reading before you buy it expecting a lamb chew.

These are rawhide-free chew bones, wrapped rather than rolled, built from chicken fillet at 8.55% bound with tapioca starch, glycerine, sorbitol liquid, isolated soy protein, corn starch, xanthan gum, sunflower oil and calcium carbonate. Mint powder (0.1%) and lamb flavour (0.07%) are added on top of that chicken base.

24-pack of wrap bones
Chicken fillet 8.55%
Mint powder 0.1%, lamb flavour 0.07%
Crude protein 12.7%, crude fat 4.81%, moisture 6.36%
Rawhide free
Feed 1 to 2 per day, under supervision

On the name. Despite being called 'Lamb & Mint', the recipe's actual meat content is chicken fillet at 8.55% — lamb appears only as a flavouring at 0.07%, and mint powder at 0.1%. If you're avoiding chicken for a dog with a known sensitivity, this is not the chew to reach for on the strength of the name alone.

Who it's for: owners looking for a rawhide-free chew as a between-meal reward, for a dog with no chicken sensitivity — whatever the name on the front suggests.

Zeus Better Bones Lamb & Mint Wrap Bones

Why we chose it

Rawhide-free chews solve a real problem for dogs that struggle to digest traditional rawhide, which is exactly what Zeus's own safety note is built around. We'd rather flag the actual chicken content up front than let the name on the pack do the talking.
