Full description

Most dogs lose the ability to digest lactose efficiently as they get past puppyhood, which is the problem a yogurt actually made for them needs to solve before it's worth calling a treat rather than a mistake.

YowUp's Turkey Yogurt is low-fat and lactose-free — lactose comes in under 0.01% — with turkey pieces mixed through it. It's made in Spain, and Yow Up describe it as suitable for both dogs and cats from three months old, dosed daily according to weight. The analysis is protein 3.1%, fat 0.1%, fibre 0.4%, ash 0.7%, moisture 87.3%.

What the dosing guidance doesn't give. Yow Up describe it as dosed daily according to weight, but the card we hold doesn't break that down into specific gram amounts by weight band, so there's no precise figure to quote here — you'd be following the pack's own guidance rather than a chart we can reproduce.

Who it's for: owners wanting a dairy-style treat without the usual lactose problem, for a dog or cat from 3 months old.

Yowup Yogurt Turkey Dog

Why we chose it

A yogurt that's actually lactose-free rather than just marketed as gentle is worth having for a dog that reacts to ordinary dairy. Turkey pieces mixed through it also make it more of a genuine treat than a plain flavoured yogurt would be.
