Full description
A metal plate lying flat along the strap behaves very differently from a tag swinging on a ring. It cannot spin, a claw cannot hook through it, and it does not clink against the side of the water bowl at four in the morning. If the noise of tags is what wakes you, that on its own is reason enough to move your details onto the collar band itself.
The band is a woven-effect strap with rather more texture than a plain nylon one, closed with an adjustable buckle so you can dial in the fit rather than picking the nearest hole and hoping. There is a corrosion-resistant gold-tone D-ring for a lead or a spare tag. Sizes run XS to XL in black, pink and light brown, a wide enough spread to cover a cat as comfortably as most dogs.

On fitting a collar. You should be able to slide two fingers flat between the strap and your pet's neck. Any tighter and it rubs, any looser and it comes off over the ears, and on a growing puppy or kitten it wants checking weekly. We would also point out that this is a standard buckle collar rather than a breakaway one, so for a cat with outdoor access a quick-release safety collar is the safer choice.
