Brushing a dog's teeth daily is the advice every vet gives and almost nobody manages, which is the gap a daily dental chew is actually trying to close rather than replace.

This is the large size, sold in packs of 7, built to a plant-based recipe of potato flour, tapioca starch, glycerine and cellulose, with algae, fennel, coconut oil, decaf green tea extract and parsley making up the smaller percentages. The bubbled texture is meant to flex against the teeth and gumline as the dog chews rather than simply being gnawed through.

• Pack of 7 large chews
• Protein 5.5%, fat 0.5%, fibre 3.5%, ash 2%, moisture 14%
• Grain-free recipe
• Plant-based — no meat in the ingredients
• Contains algae, fennel, coconut oil and green tea extract
• Supervise while chewing

On the claims we won't repeat. the maker's own material makes a plaque-reduction comparison against other chews and describes the product as approved by professionals; we don't have the underlying study, so we're sticking to what's actually on the ingredients and analytical panel rather than repeating a claim we can't check ourselves.

Who it's for: owners looking for a plant-based, grain-free daily chew rather than a meat-based dental treat, given as part of a wider dental routine rather than instead of one.
