Full description

A large dog eating a large bag of dry food every few weeks is exactly the situation where buying in bulk makes the most practical difference, both to how often you're restocking and to what each bowl actually costs.

This is a salmon-led dry food, built from cereals, meat and animal derivatives, animal fats, fish and fish derivatives — 4% salmon — and derivatives of vegetable origin including 2% dried beet pulp, alongside vegetable protein extracts and minerals. Winalot sell it in a large 12KG bag rather than a smaller everyday size.

Fish and fish derivatives, including 4% salmon
Analysis: protein 19%, fat 9%, ash 7%, fibre 3%
Includes 2% dried beet pulp
Sold in a 12KG bag
Daily amounts given by dog weight, adjusted for activity level

On the salmon content. "Salmon" in the name refers to a fish and fish derivatives component that's 4% salmon specifically — the wider fish content includes other fish derivatives too, so this isn't a single-ingredient salmon food, and the label doesn't claim it is.

Who it's for: owners of larger dogs wanting a fish-based recipe in a bulk bag, rather than restocking a smaller bag every couple of weeks.

Winalot Salmon Dry Dog Food

Why we chose it

A 12KG bag is the practical size for a household with a bigger dog going through food quickly, and fish-based recipes are a useful option for dogs on a chicken- or beef-based diet elsewhere in their week. It's an everyday-price food rather than anything premium, and it doesn't pretend to be.
