Full description

Dental treats are still treats, so the daily count and the instruction to reduce the main meal matter as much as the product name. This pouch provides both pieces of information.

WHISKAS Dentabites Chicken are cat treats in a 40G pouch. The recipe lists cereals first and includes meat and animal derivatives with chicken at 18%, along with vegetable protein extracts, vegetable derivatives, oils and fats, minerals and yeasts. The analysis declares protein 24%, fat 11%, inorganic matter 8.8%, crude fibre 9%, omega-3 fatty acids at 1857 mg/kg and energy at 325 kcal/100G.

40G pouch of chicken cat treats
Chicken 18%
Protein 24% and fat 11%
Crude fibre 9%
Omega-3 fatty acids 1857 mg/kg
Energy 325 kcal/100G

Keep these within the daily food total. WHISKAS instructs owners to feed 17 kibbles per day, reduce the main meal accordingly, use the sachet within 14 days of opening and keep fresh drinking water available. The feeding direction describes these pieces as kibbles and treats, so they belong within the day's treat allowance rather than being treated as a wet meal.

Who it's for: cat owners looking for portioned chicken dental treats and willing to count 17 kibbles within the day's food rather than add them on top.

Why we chose it

The 17-kibble daily instruction is what makes this treat straightforward to explain. I also like that chicken is declared at 18%, so the flavour has a meaningful figure behind it.
