A caged bird's daily diet doesn't change much from one week to the next, so a treat with several different things going on in the same mix — dried fruit, nuts, seed — does more for its day than the calories alone suggest.

This mix is 30.5% cereals and seeds, 27% fruit (6% dried carob, 6% banana chips, 5% dried apple, 5% dried dates, 5% raisins) and 10% peanut kernels. Vitakraft give a feeding guide by species: 1-2 teaspoons a week for lovebirds, 1 tablespoon a week for large parakeets, and 2 tablespoons a week for African grey or Amazon parrots. It's sold as a complementary treat, in a 250g pack.
