Some dogs handle a car journey, a fireworks night or being left alone without any visible bother, and some clearly don't - pacing, panting, refusing food, or worse. Stress in a dog often shows up in the stomach as much as the behaviour, which is why a calming product aimed at both tends to be more useful than one that only addresses the nerves.

Vet's Best Comfort Calm tablets are aimed at helping promote a sense of relaxation during stressful periods, using natural sedatives alongside ingredients intended to aid digestion and help settle the stomach - particularly relevant while travelling. They're supplied as 60 tablets per pack, and can be used across several common triggers: travel, fireworks and time spent home alone.

• Aimed at travel, fireworks and home-alone stress
• Uses natural sedatives
• Also includes digestive support to help settle the stomach
• 60 tablets per pack

One thing worth knowing. We have not been given a dose by dog size or a timing guide - how long before travel or fireworks to give it. Check the pack for that detail, and ask your vet first if your dog's anxiety is severe or already being managed another way.

Who it's for: owners of a dog that struggles with specific, predictable stressful events - a journey, a fireworks night, being left alone - rather than a dog with a constant, underlying anxiety condition.
