A good bed lets your pet stretch out and curl up. Measure your pet nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.
How to measure
- Measure your pet from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
- Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
- For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.
| Size | Typical internal length | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| S | up to ~50 cm | Cats, toy & small breeds |
| M | ~50–70 cm | Small–medium dogs |
| L | ~70–90 cm | Medium–large dogs |
| XL | 90 cm + | Large & giant breeds |

Full description
Cats sleep better with their back against something. A cave shape gives them walls on every side and one way in and out, which is why a nervous cat will pick a cardboard box over an open cushion every single time. This is a barrel with an arched doorway cut into the front, and it offers that same enclosed feeling without looking like something left out waiting for the recycling.
The top is a soft cushioned pad rather than a lid, so the house works two ways: inside for a cat who wants to be hidden, and on top for the same cat an hour later when they want to be raised up and watching. The arched entrance is the detail that matters, because a cat needs to see out from within, and an opening they have to squeeze through is one they quietly stop using. Blue with a gingham trim keeps it looking like furniture.
- Enclosed barrel-shaped den with an arched entrance
- Cushioned pad on top as a second sleeping spot
- Blue and gingham finish
- Walled, private sleeping space for nervous cats
- One size, with no variants to choose between
On measurements. As a rule a cave bed has to let a cat curl fully inside with the tail tucked in, and a Maine Coon or a broad British Shorthair outgrows most of them.
Who it's for: Cats who vanish when the doorbell goes, and owners who want the hiding place to look like it belongs in the room.

Why we chose it
An arched doorway rather than a hole is the detail that decides whether a cat keeps using a cave: they need to see out from inside. The cushioned top gives the same cat somewhere raised to sit an hour later.
